It's been a non stop flurry of fermenting and distilling over the last 29+ years. Marko, who has apprenticed under his father since age 10, has graduated to Master Distiller level. He now carries on the family heritage with the many wines and spirits of Charbay.

Join us for a tasting of the current wine based releases. Learn about the art of distilling beside one of our Alambic pot stills. Make time to enjoy a cigar with a glass of port or 2005 Cabernet - picnic tables are available by reservation, weather permitting.

Charbay  Visit: $20

We love to share how we distill - our Alambic Pot Still turns out some amazing spirits including the brandy that makes our port so special.

Presently we're tasting Chardonnay 2010, Cabernet Sauvignon (Oakville),  and Distillers' Port made with our own brandy.  Learn how we make our port with our barrel aged brandy. It adds so much finesse and flavor that we hear over & over: I don't usually like port but I like this!

Due to California state law, we are not able to pour Charbay spirits.
Regrettably, we do not have Charbay Spirits at the St. Helena Still House.  But we can guide you to local restaurants that pour them.

Learn about the delicious Green Tea Aperitif Marko & Miles created. Pour over ice and you have a multi layerd/flavored wine based cocktail...perfect when friends drop in - ready to pour, ready to enjoy!  Serve with salty roasted nuts.

Directions to Charbay
(Driving north into St. Helena)

Turn Left on Madrona Avenue – it’s the 3rd traffic light as you are coming through town.

Go 3 blocks & turn Right on Spring Mountain Rd.

Drive 4.5 miles. Our driveway is the  second driveway on the left past Terra Valentine Winery. This is our new driveway.

Turn Left at 4001Spring Mountain Rd and head up the private driveway (it's the new paved road).
Please drive very slowly (10 MPH Max ) up the hill (it's one way on the cureves).
