CHARBAY Winery & Distillery remains an independent family business - owned and operated by Miles, Susan, Marko & Jenni Karakasevic.
The family is one of the early pioneers in the modern American artisan distillery movement. They began distilling in California in 1983 and haven't stopped since then. Marko is Generation XIII to carry on the family's European heritage of fermenting & distilling. He carries on with a spontaneous love of the art form.
Their commitement to exceptional quality ingredients & slow winemaking and distilling is recognized by the world's foremost authorities and home enthusiasts alike. Robert Plotkin, a present day authority, said:

Based in Napa Valley, the family lives and works admidst peaceful pine trees on Spring Mountain in St. Helena - affectionately known as "The Still on the Hill".
