Mon, Jun 3, 8-10pm: Whiskey Monday at Ward III (Tribeca, NYC)
A good bar is more than just a place to drink and eat, it is the center of a community that is anchored by the space itself and those involved in its creation. Ward III was founded in June of 2009 by three journeymen bartenders who took their individual ideas on what makes a bar good and combined them in an attempt to make something great. Founded by cocktail veterans Abdul Tabini, Kenneth McCoy, and Michael Neff, Ward III features bespoke cocktails, extensive food offerings and one of the city's most highly regarded brown spirits programs, as noted by GQ Magazine who recently named it one of the "Ten Best Whiskey Bars in America".
On Monday Jun 3rd, Marko Karakasevic of Charbay will be featuring Charbay S Whiskey, distilled from bottle-ready Bear Republic Big Black Bear Stout. Only a single barrel exists in NY, half of it for sipping at Ward III and the other half of the barrel for purchase at Astor Wines & Spirits. Marko is also packing some barrel samples with him from CA, we hope you'll stop by to say hello and "have one". No charge. 111 Reade Street, NYC (Tribeca)
